I’ve always been a big advocate of buying locally whenever possible. Most people’s buying habits have changed massively over the past 15 or so years with the development of the internet and also large supermarkets.
It’s so easy now not to buy locally, a few clicks on your mouse or a trip to the local supermarket and you can purchase pretty much anything. I’m sure that the way we shop is going to continue to evolve over the next 15 years – it’s left me pondering the thought of how many people out there now feel it is important to buy locally, will the next generation of shoppers even comprehend the notion of buying locally? In the fast paced world we live in, not buying locally has become really easy and convenient.
I feel that it is important to make the effort to buy from local Bromsgrove businesses and keep the local economy moving forwards.
I don’t know what the future holds for local business and the local High Street. I can’t even begin to imagine what Bromsgrove High Street will look like in 50 years time. I hope it’s full of independent local businesses, but it’s not for me to second guess.
If you live in Bromsgrove or any other market Town, I’d love to hear your thoughts on buying locally.
