11 Ways to help get your insurance claim paid.
#11 – Take photos
Believe it or not, it can be very difficut to remember every item that might have been in a room, if you have suffered a fire or theft. Doing so is important so that you can submit a full claim to the insurer.
So my advice is to take lots of photos of the inside of your house:
- A few of each room from different angles so that all your possessions are included.
- Open up cupboard doors so that glass, china and ornaments are visible.
- Close ups of any particularly valuable items.
- Put a ruler against smaller items so that size is apparent.
- Don’t forget contents of outbuildings and garages.
- Keep several copies but not just at home. Have a set with family, at work, or in the “cloud”.
