Should the worst happen and your home is damaged by fire, it can often be difficult to remember what was in a room at the time. It is also important to be able to show your insurer what you are claiming for.
A simple solution is to take a few photographs of each room from different angles. Also take close ups of any unusual or more valuable items, preferably with a tape measure next to them to show their size. Don’t forget to store a copy of the pictures away from your home, for example at work or with a relative.
