If your business operates a commercial vehicle over 3.5 tonnes, you have until 9 September 2014 for all your drivers to complete 35 hours training – called the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
That may sound a long way off but if you consider that there are around 500,000 HGV drivers in the UK, all needing training, then there could be quite a rush as the deadline approaches and those firms that are not prepared may have drivers off the road if they have not completed their hours. Staging the training at your convenience will also you to work around downtime.
